Sunday 5 – Wednesday 8 July 2009

The 2009 Australasian Law Teachers Association (ALTA) conference is being hosted by the UWS School of Law from Sunday 5th to Wednesday 8th July 2009. The theme is "The doctor as God; the corporation as Queen: What about the country?" The main venue you will be Rosehill Racecourse Grand Stand in the geographic heart of Sydney and close to the Parramatta Justice Precinct.

As with the successful 2008 conference by James Cook University, the conference administrators will be Absolute Events & Marketing (Susan Harris and team) and the Gold sponsor will be LexisNexis. A new website and conference brochure will be available for the new academic year in 2009. Two universities and over 35 academics have already registered (using funds in 2008) for the conference.  Calls for papers for interest groups will start to roll out in early 2009 and the best papers submitted to the double-blind refereed journal for the second edition of the Journal of the Australasian Law Teachers Association (JALTA) under the General Editorship of Professor Dale Pinto.
